Update on January 29 @ 14:15 EST: The cracked[.] io, nulled[.] to, starkrdp[.] io, mysellix[.] io, and sellix[.] io websites were all given seizure banners. This confirmed that the domains had been seized as part of a joint law enforcement operation called "Operation Talent." Authorities from the United States, Italy, Spain, Europe, France, Greece, Australia, and Romania were involved in this operation.

The banners said, "International law enforcement partners have seized this website, along with the information about the customers and victims of the website."

The crew at Cracked.io have issued a new message on Telegram announcing that law enforcement has taken control of the cracked.io domain.

They stated, "Cracked.io has been taken over as part of operation talent, and the specific reasons for this action have not been made public. Now that everyone has a better understanding of the situation..."

"We are currently waiting for the official court papers from the data center and the domain host. We will provide you with more information on those details as soon as we have them. This is indeed a sad day for our town.

As of January 29th at 16:54 EST, Europol has announced that an operation is now in progress and that additional details would be released at a later time.

Below is the original version of our story.

The FBI has taken control of the domains for the well-known hacking sites Cracked.io and Nulled.to. These forums are notorious for their emphasis on cybercrime, password theft, cracking, and credential stuffing attacks.

Although some of their members participated in talks on ethical hacking, the sites were generally considered to be a center for cybercriminal behavior.

They also provided content relating to software cracks, hacking tools such as "configs" that are utilized by credential stuffing attack tools (for example, OpenBullet and SilverBullet), and other illegal activities, including a "combo lists" marketplace that sold stolen credentials or databases.

When attempting to access the websites, web browsers show the following error messages: "Error 1000. DNS points to prohibited IP" and "Error 1016. Origin DNS error."

The FBI took control of the forums' domains today and switched their name servers from Cloudflare to ns1.fbi.seized.gov and ns2.fbi.seized.gov.



Earlier today, the crew at Cracked.io sent a notice on their Telegram channel, stating that the continued access problems are due to an issue with the data center.

"Our data center is now experiencing a problem that our crew is addressing. As a result, the services will stay offline until the problem is fixed. They said, "We will receive a detailed report later."

"We can only hope that it is resolved without any additional problems." There is no estimated time at this moment. According to the data center's present status, it could take as long as one day.

The FBI also confiscated domains that were used by:

MySellIX (mysellix.io) and SellIX (sellix.io) are two platforms that allowed users to create their own online stores. However, they were also used by threat actors to sell stolen data, software keys, and compromised accounts. StarkRDP (starkrdp.io) is a Windows RDP virtual hosting provider that some threat actors allegedly used for credential stuffing attacks.
When BleepingComputer reached out to the FBI earlier today, a spokesman was not available to provide a comment.

Although the law enforcement agency has not yet released any additional information regarding this series of seizures, all indications suggest that they are taking action against platforms that are involved in credential stuffing and stolen account credentials.
