Properly addressing an envelope ensures that your mail is delivered without delay. Follow these steps for proper formatting:

1. Write the Recipient's Address

Write the address in the center of the envelope. Include:
Recipient's Name: Full name (e.g., John Doe).
Street Address: Include the house or apartment number and street name (e.g., 123 Main Street or Apt. 4B).
City, State, and ZIP Code: City and state on the same line, followed by the ZIP code.
New York, NY 10001
Country (if international): Last line, in all caps (UNITED STATES)

2. Insert Your Return Address

Your return address goes in the left-hand corner of the envelope. This includes:
Your Name: Your full name.
Your Street Address.
Your City, State, and ZIP Code.
This allows the post office to return the letter if undeliverable.

3. Postage

You place a postage stamp on the top right-hand corner of the envelope.
You must be sure you are placing the right amount of postage based on how large it is, its weight, and whether domestic or international.

Tips for Neatness and Accuracy
Use block letters (uppercase) for better readability.
Avoid abbreviations except for states (e.g., use NY instead of New York).
Write with a pen, not a pencil, to prevent smudging or fading.
Double-check for accuracy to avoid delivery issues.
