Prepare yourself for two iPhone reveals each year.
Apple’s new phones may come out at different times, but not quite as differently as before. Apple will put off the iPhone 17’s launch until the spring after the iPhone 16, The Information reports. This means we may have different kinds of iPhones launching at different times, rather than all at once in the fall.
But it’s possible that Apple is looking to make space for other models, such as the often-rumored foldable iPhone. Apple could release the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the foldable iPhone in 2023, followed by the iPhone 17 base model, the iPhone 17 Slim and the iPhone 17e in spring 2024.
If you follow Apple’s launches closely, this isn’t really news. Since the iPhone 5, Apple has released its new iPhones either in September or October, but since the introduction of the iPhone SE lineup, which is generally launched in March or April, it has not followed this pattern. Apple has also just introduced the iPhone 16e in February to replace the SE range. As for the iPhone 17, we’re still on track for Apple’s usual schedule of four new iPhones in September.
