To delete your Facebook account, follow these steps:

1.

Before you delete your Facebook account, you might want to download a copy of your information (photos, posts, etc.):

  • Open Facebook and go to your Settings.
  • Click on Your Facebook Information on the left-hand menu.
  • Click Download Your Information.
  • Choose the data you want to download (e.g., posts, photos, videos) and select the time range.
  • Click Create File, and Facebook will prepare your data for download.

2.

On Desktop:

  1. Go to Facebook and log in to your account.
  2. Click on the downward arrow in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings & Privacy, then click Settings.
  4. In the left menu, click Your Facebook Information.
  5. Scroll down and click Deactivation and Deletion.
  6. Select Permanently Delete Account, then click Continue to Account Deletion.
  7. You'll be asked to confirm your decision. You can choose to deactivate your account or delete it permanently. Select Delete Account.
  8. Enter your password and click Continue.
  9. Click Delete Account to finalize.

On Mobile (Facebook App):

  1. Open the Facebook app and tap the three horizontal lines (menu) in the bottom-right corner (iOS) or top-right corner (Android).
  2. Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy, then select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Your Facebook Information section and tap Account Ownership and Control.
  4. Tap Deactivation and Deletion.
  5. Choose Delete Account and tap Continue to Account Deletion.
  6. Follow the prompts to confirm and enter your password.
  7. Tap Delete Account to confirm.

3.

Once you request to delete your account, Facebook gives you a 30-day grace period in which you can cancel the deletion. After 30 days, your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted, and it will be unrecoverable.

4.

After 30 days, Facebook starts deleting your data from their servers. The process can take up to 90 days for all data to be permanently erased.
