To take a screenshot on Windows, you can use a few different methods depending on your needs. Here are some of the most common ways:
1.
- Press: Print Screen (sometimes labeled PrtScn or PrtSc)
- This copies the entire screen to the clipboard. You can paste it into an application like Paint, Word, or any image editor using Ctrl + V.
2.
- Press: Alt + Print Screen
- This captures the currently active window and copies it to the clipboard. Again, you can paste it using Ctrl + V.
3.
- Press: Windows Key + Print Screen
- This captures the entire screen and automatically saves the screenshot as a PNG file in the Pictures > Screenshots folder.
4.
- Press: Windows Key + Shift + S
- This opens the Snipping Tool, allowing you to select a specific area of the screen to capture. The screenshot will be copied to the clipboard.
5.
- Snipping Tool (Windows 7/8/10): Open it from the Start menu and use it to capture a freeform, rectangular, window, or full-screen snip.
- Snip & Sketch (Windows 10 and later): Press Windows Key + Shift + S or search for "Snip & Sketch" in the Start menu. This allows you to capture a portion of the screen and mark it up or save it.
6.
- Press: Windows Key + G
- Open the Game Bar and click the camera button to take a screenshot, or use Windows Key + Alt + Print Screen for a quick capture. The screenshot will be saved to Videos > Captures.
