With the help of FromSoftware, a new delivery method has been developed for punishing boss encounters.

Bandai Namco, the publisher of Elden Ring Nightreign, made the announcement today that registration is now available for the closed network test of the game. The official beginning of the sign-up period for the co-op Elden Ring spinoff was on January 10 at 9AM Eastern Time, and it will continue until January 20 at 9AM Eastern Time thereafter. Now, on the website of Bandai Namco, you have the opportunity to add your name to the list.

From the 14th to the 15th of February, the close network test will be conducted on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. It will be stretched out across five distinct sessions. For the purpose of putting the game through its paces, you will be able to join in on each of those days between the hours of 6 AM ET and 9 AM ET or 10 PM ET and 1 AM ET the following day.

Selected users will have the opportunity to play "a portion of the game prior to the full game launch," as stated on the sign-up page for Bandai Namco. The purpose of this opportunity is to gain an understanding of how the company's servers and online systems will manage a large number of fans playing at the same time. As for what exactly will be included in that "portion," Bandai Namco has stated that players will have the opportunity to "try the game's co-op experience." This will involve the players working together with two other players to complete a three-day cycle that is loaded with "increasingly challenging enemies and bosses."

It would appear that Nightreign makes use of a significant number of the systems, armor, weapons, and abilities that are found in Elden Ring; however, it does so in a redesigned environment known as "Limveld," which is intended to be different each time you play. Every cycle of the game begins in the iconic Roundtable Hold, where you have the opportunity to select one of eight characters, each of which possesses their own set of powers and "Ultimates." This is according to Bandai Namco. When you play, the Limveld map will shrink each night, and a new boss will appear. If you are successful in defeating this boss, you will be able to move on to the next day. You will continue to go through this process until the third and last night, when you will face battle against a "Nightlord." You will also be able to "customize and upgrade" your character if you become unsuccessful at any stage in the process and are forced to begin a new run, which is something that a significant number of players will most certainly do.

It was a very significant surprise when Elden Ring Nightreign was abruptly unveiled at The Game Awards in 2024. This was not only because to the fact that Shadow of the Erdtree was released in the same year, but also due to the fact that the structure of the game appears to be startlingly different from anything else that developer FromSoftware has ever created. Those individuals who were fortunate enough to be a part of the network test will now have the opportunity to experience that it is genuinely different.
