Also, according to Mark Gurman, a brand new ultra-wideband processor will provide a significant increase in range for the next generation of AirTag.

There have been no significant alterations made to the design of the Magic Mouse for a considerable amount of time, with the exception of minor adjustments such as the removal of the AA batteries and the addition of a USB-C port. However, it has been stated that Apple is currently planning to bring about a redesign. According to a claim that was published in the Power On newsletter by Mark Gurman, Apple has begun developing prototypes for a more contemporary version of the Magic Mouse, which was initially introduced in the year 2009.

A number of customers have expressed their satisfaction with the Magic Mouse due to its gesture controls; nevertheless, other characteristics of the device, such as its nonergonomic design and its charging port located on the underside, have been the focus of complaints for years. Despite the fact that we do not know exactly what the redesign will offer, it would be wonderful to see those issues finally addressed. And it seems as though we will do so. "Apple is looking to create something that is more relevant, while also fixing longstanding complaints," Gurman says. "Yes, the charging port issue is included in this list of complaints." In spite of this, it is possible that we will not see the new Magic Mouse for quite some time. An additional year to eighteen months may be required, according to Gurman, in order to have it ready for the market.

The newsletter also provides us with some additional information regarding the suspected new AirTag that Apple is supposedly working on and planning to introduce in the following year. Gurman has reported that the new tracker will have "a new ultrawide band chip on par with the one introduced in the iPhone 15," which he claims could triple its detectable range with Precision Finding. This information is based on his previous reports about a next-generation AirTag that would have a better chip and a design that would be more resistant to tampering.
