For the very first time in its 97-year existence, the Academy Awards ceremony is being broadcast live on web streaming services. You can watch the Academy Awards live on Hulu at the same time that they are shown on traditional network television by ABC. On March 2, at seven o'clock Eastern Time, the ceremony will begin; however, there will be a live red carpet show that will begin thirty minutes before the ceremony.The fact that it took this long is quite weird, but whatever the case may be, I'll take it. Since I do not even have a regular television, the only way I will be able to watch the live broadcast is through Hulu. If I am able to find a shady stream somewhere, then I will be able to see it. For the majority of you who are reading this, it is probably the same.
With this in mind, the Hulu stream has the potential to result in a significant increase in ratings, with some experts in the business predicting that the broadcast will cross the threshold of 30 million live viewers. There haven't been nearly as many people paying attention to the Academy Awards since the year 2017, when Moonlight famously grabbed victory from the jaws of defeat for La La Land. Although the ceremony in 2024 was watched by 21.5 million people, this was a significant increase in comparison to the COVID years.
