A free software update will be used to repair the issue that has caused the recall, which affects select Cybertruck, Model 3, and Model Y automobiles.
The Tesla company has issued yet another recall. According to the Associated Press, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has told the owners of almost 700,000 Tesla vehicles that there is a problem with a warning light for the tire pressure monitoring system. This information was provided to the owners of the vehicles.
Those vehicles that are included in the recall are the 2024 Cybertruck, the 2017-2025 Model 3, and the 2020-2025 Model Y. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the warning light for the tire pressure monitoring system might not remain lighted between drives.
Over-the-road (OTR) updates will be distributed to Tesla vehicles that are affected by the warning light issue, according to the company's statement. On February 15, 2025, it is anticipated that letters of notification to owners would be mailed out.
Over the course of the past year, there have been a number of recalls and out-of-service repairs for Tesla vehicles. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued seven recalls for the Cybertruck over the course of the previous year to address issues with the rear-view camera, malfunctioning windshield wipers, and loose trunk beds. An over-the-air update was released by Tesla in June for 1.8 million vehicles, including some vehicles from the Model 3, S, and X models for the years 2021-2024 and the Model Y vehicles for the years 2020-2024. The upgrade was designed to repair hoods that may become loose during drives if they were closed improperly.
